Advanced Practice Registered Nursing Certified Nurse Midwives

The Board of Nursing wants to thank everyone who worked on and supported the amended regulations for the Practice of Nurse Midwifery: COMAR 10.27.05.01-.11

On August 28, 2014, Secretary Sharfstein signed the document for final adoption of the amendments effective on September 29, 2014.

The amendments effectively create the independent practice of nurse midwifery in Maryland.  A collaborative plan is no longer required.  Instead, the amended regulations require a Certified Nurse Midwife  to consult and collaborate with a physician or other health care provider as needed.

The forms on this web site have been removed because they are no longer required under the amended regulations for "Practice of Midwifery" - COMAR 10.27.05

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIVES!

These regulations and all other COMAR regulations can be found at the Division of State Documents - www.dsd.state.md.us - under COMAR 10.27.xx
