​Nurse Practitioner Peer Review Committee/Advisory Committee

This committee oversees the practice of Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners as it pertains to the use of health insurance and medical assistance benefits, from a provider perspective and makes recommendations to the Board for appropriate action on these matters. 

The committee also reviews the content and format of nurse practitioner programs against pre-established criteria and makes recommendations to the Board for approval of these programs.

Nurse Midwife Peer Review/Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Nurse-Midwife Peer Review Committee is to oversee the practice of certified nurse-midwives as it pertains to the use of health insurance and medical assistance benefits from a provider perspective, and make recommendations to the Maryland Board of Nursing for appropriate action on these matters.

Nurse Anesthetist Peer Review/Advisory Committee

This committee oversees the practice of Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners as it pertains to the use of health insurance and medical assistance benefits, from a provider perspective and makes recommendations to the Board for appropriate action on these matters. ​The committee continues to carry out the peer review functions under Health Occupations Article, Section 8-503, Annotated Code of Maryland.  In addition the committee functions at the Board's direction and provides it with expert advice related to the practice of nurse anesthesia.
