New Instructions for Processing Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Attestations

The Maryland Nurse Practice Act requires only ONE attestation. Additional attestations for every work site are not required and will not be accepted. Addendums are no longer required.

The physician collaborator most recently named will be the physician collaborator of record in the Board file.

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners currently having more than one attestation filed with the board should contact the Advanced Practice Point of Contact as soon as possible at mbon.advancedpractice@maryland.gov to identify the current physician collaborator.

The Standards of Practice of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners require collaboration and consultation with a physician or other health care provider as needed. Effective October 1, 2010, CRNPs certified in Maryland must complete an attestation identifying one physician collaborator.

Thank you for assisting the MBON in meeting its mission to advance safe quality care in Maryland through licensure, certification, education and accountability for public protection.
